You may not be able to solve world hunger or eliminate illiteracy all by yourself, but by serving in our local communities, together we can make an impact. After all, you may only be one but you ARE one. Our individual efforts don't need to be huge—a little bit of change here, a few hours there— even small efforts quickly add up to make a real difference.
There are also other benefits of serving in the community. As you work side-by-side with other people you will learn from each other, mutual understanding will increase, misconceptions can be corrected, and new friendships will be built. Serving those around you is a blessing to both those served, and those who serve!
For this adventure spend a few minutes on JustServe.org and find a project in your area you would like to volunteer with. Spend 2-3 hours helping. Leverage your volunteer efforts by creating a short video of your volunteer work and submitting it to the Super Service Challenge to help bring additional funding back to your community and the non-profit organizations that you love. You can get all of the details on the Super Service Challenge adventure page.
A perfect place to start the habit of volunteering is in your own home with those you love most. Keep your eyes open and JUST SERVE!
