Healthy, strong family relationships are foundational to young people’s growth, learning, and well-being.
These relationships build strong social and emotional strengths that kids use throughout their lives.
But great family relationships don’t just happen..
Welcome to My Discovery Destination!

Take Advantage of 6 FREE Park Days in 2021!
Visiting a National Park is a great way for families to spend time together! There are more than 400 National Parks available to everyone, every day at no cost. In addition, special fee-free days provide a great opportunity to visit the national parks that normally charge an entrance fee. Whether you try a new place or an old favorite, take time to explore the parks near you.
*The entrance fee waiver for fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
There are also free annual passes for 4th graders, 5th graders (through August 2021 due to covid!), military families, disabled citizens and volunteers, and discounted passes available for senior citizens.
Enjoy the Great Outdoors! Get physical exercise, mental refreshment, and family bonding.
For this Adventure visit one of the 400+ National Parks across the country
This Adventure is from the Discovery Family Program. Here are some TIPS (Teaching Important Parenting Strategies) that we always include for each Discovery Adventure.
Pack some favorite treats to take along.
Notice the skills your child demonstrates while visiting the park. Are they extra good at keeping balance? Do they have great stamina or are they quick or limber? Are they good at the planning phase? Or the packing and preparing phase?
Let the kids get involved in planning the trip- which park should we visit? When should go? What should we do while we are there?
The key, of course, is to make it something that they will really look forward to.

Community Engagement Adventure
As a Super-Achiever you will want to share the fun with friends and family. Organize a 'Show and Tell' event where you can share your family's Adventure with your friends, neighbors, or extended family.
Here are some ideas:
❏ Show pictures or video from your trip
❏ Create a display of items used or keepsakes you brought home and tell what is special about each one
❏ Teach a new skill you learned while on your trip
❏ Invite others to share details about their trip
❏ Most of all . . . Have FUN!!
Check back often as we will post new Adventures every week
