Super Service Challenge

Family Adventure

The Super Service Challenge Adventure provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to really make a difference in their community.

The word 'Leverage' means "to use (something) to maximum advantage". Drew Brees and his incredible Super Service Challenge encourages us to get involved in the community and make a positive difference by leveraging our efforts and getting maximum benefit from our volunteer efforts.  Every time you SERVE a non-profit organization you have the opportunity to bless them not only with your time and effort, but with a cash donation that comes through the Super Service Challenge from many incredible businesses nation-wide who understand the great impact that volunteers in a community can have.

For this Adventure Pre-K, Basic and Teen are all the same, and can be completed over and over again for maximum benefit to you and your community. See the Basic Level for details.

1. Find Your Passion

Volunteer at a nonprofit with a group of two or more. (Parent + Child = 2!)
Need help finding a place to volunteer? Visit JustServe.org to find up-to-date volunteer opportunities or plan a service project to benefit one of our non-profit Adventure Partners!

2. Make a Video

While volunteering use your smart phone or camera to take videos and photos of your experience.
(Remember that editing your videos and photos can be completed after your service project.)

What needs to be included in your video?

• At least two volunteers.
• Provide the name and location of the nonprofit served.
• Describe the project you participated in for the nonprofit.
• Share great things about the nonprofit.
• Consider sharing your experience as a volunteer and the impact the volunteer project will have on the nonprofit.

Suggested video lengths should be approximately 2 minutes. Keep in mind that

• The video should be simple, yet inspiring to others.
• Videos must be viewed before individuals can vote on the video (so keeping it short is good!)

Save your video in a .MOV or .MP4 format.

3. Upload your Video

Sign up at www.superservicechallenge.com/signup. In order to sign up you will need the following:

• Email, Facebook or Google account.
• Acknowledge you have read the rules.

After sign up is complete you can upload your video. You will need the following to upload:

• Video Title
• Short description of the video
• Provide tags "#" that help promote the video, nonprofit, or group of volunteers. (Example: #volunteeringiscontagious). Be sure to include #MyDiscoveryDestination and the nonprofit's hashtag as well!)
• Select when you want your video campaign (how long you want your video eligible to receive votes for the nonprofit) to end.  Why is this important?
  • • A shorter campaign end may provide funding from the votes quicker for a specific need of the nonprofit.
    • You want to aggressively work your video through your contacts for a specific time period.
    • Maximize the campaign for a full year to allow as many votes as possible over the 12 month maximum time allowed for videos to receive votes.
• Select from a list of nonprofits that are registered with Super Service Challenge. If the nonprofit is not currently registered with the Super Service Challenge, no problem — just select "Not Listed" and provide the nonprofit name and email address for the nonprofit contact.

4. Earn Big Bucks for your nonprofit!

Share your video link from the Super Service Challenge into the My Discovery Destination! Facebook community so that we can help you get more votes! You will also want to share with your contacts via email and social media challenges requesting individuals to register and vote for your video.

Super Service Challenge will select 4 spotlight videos quarterly that will receive a special award up to $2,500. Spotlight videos are selected based on adherence to the Super Service Challenge rules, inspiring message from the volunteer and/or having a high video vote and view count on our website.

Community Engagement Adventure

Help your friends and family take the Super Service Challenge one step further by educating them about this phenomenal opportunity to help raise funding for local non-profits without a cash output. You can make a significant difference for your favorite charity by organizing other groups and service projects to support them!

There is no limit on how many videos someone can upload. Remember to let the group help you get 'votes' for your video.

Share your service video to your social media sites and in the My Discovery Destination! Facebook community with the hashtags #SuperServiceChallenge and #MyDiscoveryDestination so we can help you get more votes!

The Super Service Challenge shares inspiring acts of service and donates to the nonprofits served. The Mission of the Super Service Challenge is to Transform Business Through Service. This very much compliments the Mission of My Discovery Destination! to Strengthen Families and Build Character through bringing businesses, families, non-profits, schools and the entire community together in creative ways that benefit all involved.
